About Murray Residents Directory

Murray records are spread across city departments, Salt Lake County offices, Utah agencies, the library, the museum, and historical archives. The Assessor ties owners to parcels, the Recorder indexes land documents, elections tools handle limited voter fields, and older directories sit in regional collections. This reference organizes those paths so a Murray name, street, or past address can lead to the proper source and custodian.

Why This Reference Exists

Printed directories of Murray residents are no longer a single current book. The underlying evidence remains, but it is split by record type. Salt Lake County keeps parcel, tax, and deed material. Murray City Hall keeps city-created records. Utah agencies handle vital, voter, license, and statewide court access. The Murray Library and Museum preserve local history, while Archives supplies older county records.

The purpose here is orientation. A searcher should know whether an address question belongs with the Assessor, whether a deed image belongs with Recorder Data Services, and whether a family question needs the Museum or an obituary. The guide also explains what an index can show, what a certificate requires, and when a GRAMA request is the right route.

What Murray Pages Include

  • By Street: address-keyed parcels, GIS, deeds, permits, and street limits.
  • City Directories: the 1910 Polk item, local history shelves, family files, and historical methods.
  • Resident Lookup: one-person checks across parcels, voter status, courts, vital records, and licenses.
  • ZIP Directory: 84107, 84123, and 84157, with postal and city-boundary cautions.
  • Past Residents and Neighbors: one-address history and the parcels around a block.

Facts are drawn from the official Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah, federal, library, university, and archive sources listed on the working research record. When a collection is only partly digitized, the wording says so. When a public register was not verified, the page does not promise one.

What This Reference Cannot Do

Murray Residents Directory is privately operated. It is not Murray City Hall, Salt Lake County, the Utah Courts, the Utah Lieutenant Governor, OVRS, the Library, the Museum, or an archives custodian. It cannot certify a copy, correct a parcel, confirm a current household, remove a voter entry, or retrieve a protected record.

  • Only the custodian can certify, amend, or release its record.
  • A property owner is not automatically the person who occupies a parcel.
  • A public court summary is not a complete case file.
  • A directory or obituary is a historical clue, not a current status check.
  • Links, hours, fees, and coverage can change, so confirm before relying on them.
