Choose the Right Murray Office
For a property or address question, start with the Salt Lake County Assessor or Recorder. For city-created files, contact Murray City Hall. Police and Fire records have separate custodians. A historical family question may be better served by the Murray Library, Museum, or Salt Lake County Archives.

Use the Assessor for owner, address, and parcel fields, the Recorder for documents, and the Murray GRAMA page for existing city records. A GRAMA request should include your name, contact information, a specific record description, date range, address, and requested response format.
For old printed material, the Library can confirm local holdings and the Museum can check whether a family file, yearbook, scrapbook, or oral-history lead exists. These offices decide what they can release and whether an appointment or proof is needed.
